- Abstract
While dimensioning and optimizing electric vehicle drives, an important goal is to reach a high overall efficiency of the drive systems. In order to minimize the required energy of an electric vehicle, contrary to stationary industry and household appliances, it is not crucial to receive a high maximum efficiency but minimal energy consumption in various drive cycles. As mass and volume become key issues for electric vehicle drives additionally to the optimization of the electromagnetic design, current research focuses on innovations in the materials sector. This paper aims to quantify the losses of electric drive system depending on the different Materials used.
