Abstract

Expansion of anthropogenic grasslands and heathlands and the destruction of forests have been the most widespread alteration in the past. The modern and former vegetation is demonstrated by a number of mixed farming economies and anthropo-zoogenic influences, as common-land grazing with cattle, cycling land use with coppicing, charcoal burning, bark stripping and integrated rotational slash and burn culture and agriculture. -from English summary
