- Abstract
The majority of location decision models aims at a cost-minimizing global site selection. However, German companies increasingly rely on the closeness to their network partners to secure their long-term competitiveness. Furthermore, due to the megatrend "urbanization", more and more metropolitan areas emerge. Regional location and network planning in metropolitan regions therefore is of growing interest for factory planning.
