- Abstract
A presentation covers reduction of pipeline transportation cost with a combination of gas and electrically driven compressor units by switching between these units and increasing pipeline pressure at times with available and very low power prices; economic and benefits associated with the concept; reliablility of gas supply with pipelines partially operated electric motors; and case studies involving the compressor drive replacement in Radeland, MEGAL CS considerated, and hybrid gas/electric CS with German gas/power grid fees and taxes considered. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the International Gas Union Research Conference (Copenhagen, Denmark 9/17-19/2014).
