Abstract

Isolated auxiliary voltages are often required in electrical devices. Inverters require a large number of isolated auxiliary voltages, which are usually generated from a self-generated extra-low voltage. Currently, resonant converters are increasingly being used to generate an isolated voltage. The optimization of an series resonant converters (SRC) using a Common Mode (CM) choke is presented in this article. This CM choke can offer an EMC advantage so that CM currents to the control platform are reduced. The CM choke has the challenge that the resonant circuits of the individual SRCs are no longer independent of each other. This load dependency is described analytically in this paper. A comparison of simulation and measurement is made with an implemented AC bus with CM choke and six parallel SRCs. The measurements describe the consistency with the analytical model of the load dependency.
